What are Medicare Prescription Drug Plans?
Medicare Prescription Drug Plans are Part D and have their own list of covered drugs that is referred to as a formulary. To get Medicare drug coverage, you must join a plan run by an insurance company or other private company approved by Medicare. Each plan can vary in cost and drugs covered.
The plan options include:
- Non-Standalone Plans: These plans are the prescription drug plans that are offered with Medicare Advantage.
- Standalone Plans: These plans are not included with other medical care plans. You can use a standalone plan with Medicare.
